In light of our past four years, and in light of Donald Trump's past forty years, it is small wonder we find ourselves in this tumult, in this cauldron of lies. The desire to cling to power runs in all of us, but it is tempered by decorum, fairness, decency, and, for the hesitant, the rule of law. Apparently, the current crop of Republicans suffer from no such constraints. Their bald-faced attempt to upend the election, to contort the political narrative in order to construct an intellectual miasma for a base already willing to erupt at their urging, is a disgrace and a stain on the People's House stark enough for all the world to see.
