Disruption

She sits down at the table across from him. She straightens her shoulders and speaks in a clear voice. “What are you reading?”

Startled, he looks up at her. He hesitates, then slowly closes the book to expose the cover.

Her head down, she says nothing, only fiddles with a pen lying on the table, spinning it slowly.

“Who are you?” he asks.

She raises her gaze to meet his. She smiles. “I’m here to change your life.”
